Made for Buena Vista: A Custom Apron with New York Character

A restaurant’s uniform is part of the first impression. For Buena Vista Restaurant & Bar in New York, we wanted to create an apron that felt as distinctive as the team wearing it.

Buena Vista brings modern Spanish and Latin American flavors to New York City, with locations in Hell’s Kitchen and the East Village. Its menu draws inspiration from across the Caribbean, Mexico, and South America, while its dining rooms pair lively energy with thoughtful hospitality.

At Helt Studio, our customization program starts with the people who will wear the uniform every day. We work with hospitality teams to choose the right materials, shape the design, and add details that reflect their brand. The goal is workwear that feels like it belongs in the restaurant and holds up through a busy shift.

For Buena Vista, we made custom aprons in DWR denim in 3 different colors to match their brand. The fabric brings the character of denim together with a water-repellent finish, giving the team an apron suited to the pace of service. It creates a unified look while giving staff practical protection as they move between guests, food, and drinks.

The finishing detail is Buena Vista’s intricate logo. Bringing that level of detail onto an apron was a way to put the restaurant’s identity front and center. It’s a mark the team can wear with pride and a detail guests will remember.
